Why people come back

More than dinner. It feels like home.

We never cut corners, and we never rush you out the door. Here is what keeps our regulars coming back, week after week.

🌾

Made by hand, daily

Pasta, focaccia, and gelato are made in-house from scratch each morning. Nothing frozen, nothing shortcut.

🔥

The wood-fired oven

Our brick oven has burned since 1987, hitting 430°C for that blistered, smoky crust you can only get from real fire.

🍅

Farm-to-table produce

Tomatoes, herbs, and greens arrive twice a week from family growers in the surrounding hills. We cook the season.

🍷

A cellar worth lingering in

Over 140 Italian labels, from a humble house Chianti to rare Barolo, picked by our sommelier Marco.

👨‍👩‍👧

A table for everyone

High chairs, gluten-free pasta, and a kids' plate. Big tables, long lunches, and birthdays are our favourite.

No rushing, ever

Your table is yours for the evening. Order another bottle, share a tiramisù, talk until the candles burn low.

1987Where it began
Our story

It started with a grandmother and one good recipe.

In 1987, Nonna Lucia opened a twelve-seat room with a single oven and a recipe for ragù she refused to write down. People came for the pasta and stayed for the warmth.

Nearly four decades later, her grandson Tommaso runs the kitchen, the oven is still the same, and that ragù is still simmered for six hours every Sunday. We have grown, but the heart hasn't moved an inch.

We believe a meal is the best excuse to slow down. So we still roll the pasta by hand, still greet you at the door, and still treat your table like our own.

The ragù tasted exactly like the one my grandmother made in Bologna. I nearly cried into my pasta. We will be back every time we are in town.

We booked the chef's table for our anniversary. Six courses, Marco pairing each with a wine, and not once did we feel rushed. Pure magic.

I have eaten here every Friday for nine years. The pizza crust is the best in the city, full stop, and the staff feel like family now.

They sorted out a gluten-free menu for my daughter without making a fuss, and she said it was the best pasta she'd ever had. That meant everything.

Stumbled in off the street on a rainy evening. Left two hours later having found my favourite restaurant in Europe. The tiramisù alone is worth the flight.

Questions, answered

Everything you might want to know before you visit. Still curious? Drop us a line through the form below.

Do I need a reservation?+

For dinner and weekend lunch we strongly recommend it, as we are a small room and fill up fast. Weekday lunch usually has space for walk-ins, but booking ahead never hurts.

Can you cater to allergies and dietary needs?+

Absolutely. We make fresh gluten-free pasta to order, offer plenty of vegetarian and vegan dishes, and our kitchen is happy to adapt. Just let us know in your booking notes.

Are you family and child friendly?+

Always. We have high chairs, a children's pasta plate, and a relaxed atmosphere. Long family lunches are some of our favourite afternoons.

Can I book the restaurant for a private event?+

Yes. The full room seats up to 48 guests, and we host birthdays, rehearsal dinners, and corporate lunches. Mention "private event" in the form and our team will plan it with you.

Is there parking nearby?+

There is a public car park two minutes' walk on Via dei Tessitori, and the old-town tram stop is right outside. Evenings are easiest by tram or taxi.

Do you offer takeaway or gift vouchers?+

Selected pasta and pizza are available for collection at lunch. Gift vouchers for any amount make a lovely present and can be arranged in person or through the contact form.
